It's not that we don't appreciate you following along with the orchestra's adventures on this blog - we do, immensely - but did you know there's a lot of other great coverage of the LA Phil's International Residency at the Barbican? And the sources...well, they're not exactly surprising, since the fine organizations also blogging are longtime friends, cohorts, collaborators and compadres of ours.
First off, the very excellent Barbican Centre is doing their own blog, which makes sense, since this whole event is happening right there. They're on the scene and they're doing it right - from audio clips of keynote speeches to photos of Gustavo leading the Discover Dudamel event, they've got things covered across the pond.
Another great source - not to mention knowledgable about the LA Phil - is KUSC's blog. Ace on-air talent Brian Laurtitzen is embedded with the orchestra for the London leg, and he's applying his considerable LA Phil-related smarts to that blog, as well as tweeting like mad. And you never know - you may even see him show up over here sometime soon.
Finally, our Walt Disney Concert Hall co-residents, tourmates and friends, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, is also covering the tour over at THEIR blog. As you may know, the Master Chorale is an integral part of The Gospel According to the Other Mary and its Music Director, Grant Gershon, has been intimately involved with the production, conducting staging rehearsals both here and abroad and even leading the second performance here in LA on Friday, March 8.
Add all of these great insider views of the tour to your daily reading - we're surely checking in with them!
