Through Community Concert Connections, the Los Angeles Philharmonic distributes complimentary concert tickets to organizations that work with individuals in need, and families, youth, and seniors who otherwise could not attend concerts. 501c(3) organizations submit a brief application describing whom they serve, and, once accepted, receive a set of concert dates from which to request complimentary tickets. In the winter season, tickets are offered for the Sounds About Town youth orchestra concerts in Walt Disney Concert Hall. At the Hollywood Bowl, more than 30,000 complimentary tickets are offered for Tuesday and Thursday LA Philharmonic concerts. (There is a modest service charge for handling the ticket requests.)
About one hundred organizations actively participate in the program. Organizations that participate in Community Concert Connections include senior centers, health service providers, homeless shelters, adult schools, AIDS service centers, foster care organizations, Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Sister organizations, religious organizations, and recreation centers.
If you are involved with a community organization that you would like to inform about Community Concert Connections, please email the organization's complete contact information and return to firstname.lastname@example.org so that an application can be mailed to them.
