Upbeat Live is an informative and engaging way to learn about the music before your concert. Renowned musicologists will take you through music theory, guided listening and the program's historical and cultural context. Plus, you'll hear interviews with guest artists and members of the LA Phil and participate in Q & A!
Upbeat Live pre-concert talks begin one hour* before the following concert series:

The Mahler Project (for 2012)*
All Upbeat Live events are FREE to ticket holders and are held in BP Hall* at Walt Disney Concert Hall except Friday matinees, which take place at 9:45am in the main auditorium.
*Mahler Project FREE Public talks, January 19 - 22 with Gilbert Kaplan, are in the Walt Disney Concert Hall auditorium 1.5 hours prior to the performance. Open to ticket holders for the concert that follows and to the general public. Members of the general public should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to speaker start-time. To guarantee a space, please RSVP to Information@LAPhil.org with the subject line “Mahler Project RSVP” or call 323.850.2000. Only ticket holders stay for the concert.
