Brandon Cedel

Bass-Baritone BRANDON CEDEL has performed with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera Santa Barbara, Music Academy of the West, Opera Orchestra of New York, and the Chautauqua Institution. He has also worked with symphonies including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony, Hershey Symphony and the Marina Del Rey Symphony. His repertoire includes Figaro in Mozart’s LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Mephistopheles in Gounod’s FAUST, the Forester in Janacek’s THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, Antony in Barber’s ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, and Colline in Puccini’s LA BOHEME.

Brandon was the 2012 winner at the George London Awards and Recipient of the Sarah Tucker Grant at the Richard Tucker Foundation. He was also the First Place Winner at the Giulio Gari Foundation Competition, Palm Beach Opera Competition, S. Livingston Mather Competition, and Sue Goetz Ross Memorial Competition. He was the 2011 Grand Prize Winner at the Gerda Lissner Vocal Competition. He has also received awards from the Liederkranz Competition, Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation, Loren L. Zachary Competition, Opera Index, and the Mario Lanza Competition.

Brandon received his undergraduate degree and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music. He was also a student at the Music Academy of the West, The Chautauqua Institution, and the Juilliard Pre-College. An avid recitalist, he has been seen in recital and concert with Chicago’s Music in the Loft, the William Walton Estate in Ischia, The Castleton Festival, Tri Counties Association, Longwood Gardens, the Richard Tucker Foundation, the Cleveland Men’s Chorus, the Haverford Singers, and the Over the Rainbow Foundation. He has collaborated with pianists such as Mikael Eliasen, Dalton Baldwin, Warren Jones, Carrie-Ann Matheson and John Churchwell.

Future engagements include The New York Choral Society, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Gotham Chamber Opera, and the Glyndebourne Festival. He will be joining the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Develop Program next season.
