BRUCE H. NEWBERG, C.S.A., is thrilled to be making his Hollywood Bowl debut with Show Boat. Bruce’s critically acclaimed cast for the Reprise! production of Hair (starring Sam Harris, Steven Weber, and Jennifer Leigh Warren) will soon be seen again at The Wilshire in a pre-Broadway run directed by Arthur Allen Seidelman. For Reprise!, Bruce has cast Strike Up the Band (Charles Nelson Reilly & Ruth Williamson) and the upcoming 1776, directed by Gordon Hunt (starring Roger Rees & Orson Bean).

As a casting executive at Disney, Bruce supervised Blame It on the Bellboy (Dudley Moore), The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (Anabella Sciorra & Rebecca De Mornay) and Marrying Man (Kim Basinger). Best known for independent films, Bruce’s casting credits include Michael Cacoyanis’ The Cherry Orchard (Charlotte Rampling & Alan Bates); Walking Across Egypt (Ellen Burstyn & Gwen Verdon), for which he received an Artios nomination; Spawn (Martin Sheen & John Leguizamo); and The Maker (Matthew Modine & Mary Louise Parker).

Bruce received a BA in drama at Tufts and an MFA at UCLA Film School. With writing partner Sam Harris he created the television series Down to Earth (TBS) and the original musical Hurry! Hurry! Hollywood!
