Dale Breidenthal
Second Violins
DALE BREIDENTHAL began playing the violin as a substitute with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl while she was still a student at USC. She performed often with the orchestra here in Los Angeles and on tour in Japan, Europe and the United States. She became a permanent member of the orchestra in 1983.
A third generation Californian, Ms. Breidenthal began her musical studies on the piano at age six and two year later began violin lessons. In addition to playing in school and youth orchestras, the young violinist also collaborated with her brother and sister in chamber performances. From 1977 to 1981 she was a scholarship student at the University of Southern California where her principal teacher was Eudice Shapiro.
Dale is married to the Philharmonic's principal bassoonist David Breidenthal.
