Donald Cole
Cellist DONALD COLE joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic in October 1963, after having served as Principal Cello of the Glendale Symphony. Earlier orchestral experience included Missouris Kansas City Symphony, the Houston Symphony, and the Dallas Symphony. Cole studied privately with the legendary Gregor Piatigorsky and with Kurt Reher, the Philharmonics former Principal Cellist. In addition to playing the piano, Cole has a wide range of other expertise, from mechanical engineering and architecture to business administration and industrial engineering. His retirement will allow him to pursue his hobbies, such as bicycling, swimming, and photography.
