About the performer

Gloria Garayua

GLORIA GARAYUA is originally from NYC where she received her B.F.A. in Acting from Long Island University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In college, Gloria’s portrayal of Ariel in “The Tempest” earned her an Irene Ryan Nomination where she placed as the 1st National Alternate!

After college, she embarked on a national tour of “Great Scientists Throughout the Ages” by the National Theatre for the Performing Arts, and 2 regional tours “Halfway There”  with the Periwinkle National Theatre Company, and various plays in repertory with the George Street Playhouse Touring Company.

Gloria moved to CA in 2004 with the leading role in Nilo Cruz's "Two Sisters and A Piano" at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. Afterwards, she moved to Los Angeles and booked her first agent in a week and also booked her first 2 LA auditions: "Fun With Dick and Jane" opposite Jim Carrey and a Guest Star appearance on “NYPD Blue” with Dennis Franz.

Her TV credits include:  3 seasons on “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Bones”, “Southland”, “Castle”, “CougarTown” , “Desperate Housewives”, “Cold Case”, “ER”, “Life”, “Joey”, “Raising The Bar”,  “Shameless”, “Weeds”, “Imagination Movers”, “Strong Medicine”, “Six Feet Under”, “The Shield”, "NYPD Blue".

Film Credits Include:
Sony Classics’ “Mother and Child”  starring Annette Bening, Jimmy Smitts, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Lakeshore Entertainment’s “Henry Poole Is Here” starring Luke Wilson, George Lopez, Cheryl Hines, and Adriana Barraza.
Sony Studios: "Fun With Dick and Jane" starring Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni.

Gloria has worked as a private acting coach in Los Angeles from 2005 until Present day, and currently teaches Beginning Drama at the Los Angeles Unified School District's "Fine Arts Conservatory" ages 8 - 10. She also teaches at Actor Training in LA in North Hollywood.

Gloria speaks fluent Spanish and intermediate French, plays beginner piano, sings Mezzo-soprano, and is an intermediate dancer in Jazz and various Latin styles.
