German contralto INGEBORG DANZ collaborates regularly with Helmuth Rilling, the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, and the Windsbacher Knabenchor, among others. Highlights of the past seasons include Bach’s St. John Passion with Philippe Herreweghe and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Bamberg Symphony under Roger Norrington, Händel’s Jephtha at the Salzburg Festival, and a highly-acclaimed recital tour with Juliane Banse, Christoph Prégardien, and Thomas Quasthoff. Other important engagements have included Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Vienna Philharmonic and St. John Passion with the San Francisco Philharmonic and Herbert Blomstedt. Other projects have included Bach’s B-minor Mass with the Munich Philharmonic, Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, again with Herbert Blomstedt and the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig.
Ingeborg Danz’s enormous repertoire consists of all major works – oratorio and concert – and she has made a number of productions for broadcast and TV stations and participated in several CD recordings: Mozart masses with Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Teldec), Bach’s St. Matthew and St. John Passions and B-minor Mass, both with Helmuth Rilling (Hänssler), and her first recital disc with Brahms Lieder, again for Hänssler.
