Actor, producer, and director JOHN DE LANCIE is well-known for his work in television, film, theater, and the concert stage. His film credits include Patient 14, Woman on Top, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, The Fisher King, and many others. He has appeared in celebrated television shows including TheWest Wing, LA Law, The Practice, and Star Trek.

He has been a member of the American Shakespeare Festival, the Seattle Repertory Company, South Coast Repertory, and the Mark Taper Forum. His recent theater work includes the West Coast premiere of Arthur Miller's Resurrection Blues in San Diego, California. De Lancie has directed plays such as The Waldorf Conference with Edward Asner and National Public Radio's nationwide broadcast of Invasion from Mars with Leonard Nimoy and has produced, co-written, and directed dramatizations of The Time Machine, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Lost World, and other science fiction classics.

De Lancie's narrations in such works as A Lincoln Portrait, The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, The Soldier's Tale, and Peter and the Wolf and his dramatizations of Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Abduction from the Seraglio have been acclaimed in performances with the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestras, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the symphony orchestras of Montreal, Seattle, and Chicago.

De Lancie writes and directs the Los Angeles Philharmonic's "First Nights" series. He has been involved with the L.A. Philharmonic Toyota Symphonies for Youth since 1998.
