For television, writer and musician MARK SALTZMAN created Mrs. Santa Claus, a holiday perennial on CBS starring Angela Lansbury with songs by Jerry Hex.

As a script and song writer for Sesame Street, Mark received seven Emmy Awards and wrote dozens of songs, including Caribbean Amphibian. For the movies, he wrote The Adventures of Milo and Otis, and has written screenplays for Universal, Sony, and Disney.

His musical play The Tin Pan Alley Rag premiered at the Pasadena Playhouse in 1997 and was nominated for four Ovation Awards, including Best Musical. It has since played at theaters around the country, and this November will open at the Cleveland Playhouse with Lynne Taylor-Corbett directing.

Also this fall, Mark’s movie The Red Sneakers, directed by and starring Gregory Hines, will appear on Showtime. As executive producer, Mark produced the upcoming Disney Channel movie The Poof Point.

In New York theater, Mark contributed songs and sketches to the hit revue A, My Name is Alice and wrote the long-running off-off-Broadway spoof The Snow White Show.

His new stage musical Romeo, Romeo has had readings in New York and Los Angeles and will have its world premiere in 2002. Mark is a graduate of Cornell University.
