Having composed the music for over 50 feature films, 100 television films, and 25 television series, as well as 18 albums and 30 concert works, PATRICK WILLIAMS has established himself as one of the most accomplished and prolific composers in the music industry today. He has received four Emmy awards with 22 nominations and two Grammy awards with 14 nominations; he has also been nominated for both an Academy Award and the Pulitzer Prize in music. He is a recipient of the Richard Kirk Achievement Award from BMI, and in 2002 he received the Golden Score Award from the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers.

Now in his fifth year as Artistic Director, Patrick Williams began contributing to the Henry Mancini Institute even earlier when he helped design and launch the HMI in 1997. In addition to his composing and conducting contributions, Williams oversees the Institute's selection of all guest artists, faculty, program participants, and music for the HMI Summer Program for Emerging Professional Musicians and year-round concerts.

Williams has also been a leader in the music-education field. He has been Visiting Professor and Composer-in-Residence at the University of Utah and the University of Colorado, which awarded him an honorary doctorate. He also holds an honorary doctorate from Duke University and has performed and/or lectured at other institutions such as the Berklee College of Music, Indiana University, Texas Christian University, UCLA, USC, and Yale University. As Artistic Director of the Henry Mancini Institute, he is responsible for the artistic vision for one of the most dynamic music education programs in the world.
