About the performer
Robert Watt
Assistant principal horn ROBERT WATT, a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 1970, began his musical studies on the trumpet and switched to the French horn in high school. David Crites was Mr. Watt's first formal teacher; after graduating from high school, he entered the New England Conservatory of Music, studying French horn with Harry Shapiro of the Boston Symphony.
Mr. Watt has been soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Boston Pops Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony, and many community orchestras in the Los Angeles area. He has performed on several occasions at Philharmonic New Music Group and Chamber Music Society concerts.
