The SANTA CLARA VANGUARD DRUM & BUGLE CORPS is a musical and movement youth activity that combines brass, percussion, dance and color guard into a competitive marching unit. The Vanguard has won six Drum Corps International World Championships and two Winter Guard International Championships, traveling more than fourteen thousand miles across the United States each summer. The Vanguard competes against other high-calibre drum corps nearly every night of the summer in professional and college stadiums. The organization has a reputation of superior excellence and innovation in the world of pageantry and is known throughout the world.  The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) was formed in 1967 in Santa Clara, California.
