Video of Gershwin’s An American in Paris Taped Live During the 2011/12 Season Opening Night Concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall Available Exclusively on iTunes for free from March 18 to March 26

On Sunday, March 18, Deutsche Grammophon released Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s performance of George Gershwin’s An American in Paris exclusively on iTunes. The digital video of the performance, which was taped live during the 2011/12 season Opening Night Concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, is available for free download exclusively on iTunes March 18 – 26.

Of the opening night concert, Variety magazine enthused, “Dudamel found a great vehicle for his particular blend of Latin temperament and rhythmic pizzazz… ’An American in Paris’ not only swung when it had to, it jumped...Dudamel is one of only a few who can, or dares to, kick up a ruckus with this piece.”
