Music Director Gustavo Dudamel begins the 2012/13 season with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall with a powerful opening subscription concert. He will conduct Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring for the first time with the LA Phil; and premiere “Symphony,” a new work by Stephen Stucky. Also on the program is Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte.

NPR Music, together with Los Angeles public radio station Classical KUSC (91.5FM), will broadcast the entire concert live. Hosted by Brian Lauritzen and Alan Chapman of KUSC, the program will air on KUSC beginning at 2PM (PDT), and be available to listeners everywhere in a live stream at NPR Music – www.npr.org/music - and its mobile apps. NPR Music and KUSC will also host a web chat during the performance. The entire concert will be archived for later listening at NPR Music, where fans can find more offerings at NPR Classical and the blog Deceptive Cadence. The concert will be available for streaming on both the KUSC and NPR Music websites for the week following the concert. NPR’s afternoon newsmagazine All Things Considered will interview Dudamel, scheduled to air Friday, September 29.
