Based on the New Testament stories of Lazarus and Jesus’ Passion, plus contemporary Latin American poetry, John Adams’ The Gospel According to the Other Mary takes a fresh approach to the combination of materials that Adams pioneered so successfully in El Nino. It will be presented in a concert version, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, and return the following season in a fully staged edition.
