Walt Disney Concert Hall

About This Performance

Tchaikovsky composed his first string quartet specifically for a concert to raise money for himself, and it did the trick, thanks in large measure to its now-famous Andante cantabile, a movement based on a Russian folk song that has been popularized in countless arrangements.

Come for:

Zesty, soulful Eastern European chamber music, with movements based on folk songs.

And more:

Chamber music is an ideal forum for personal expression, and the musicians of the LA Phil always take the opportunity with exciting flair and imagination - plus the pre-concert wine reception!
