Part of CH2 Chamber Music 2
About This Performance
Frenchman Jean Françaix’ String Trio is an ideal introduction to his delightful and buoyant music. Ernst von Dohnányi’s Serenade, also from the early 20th century, delights as well, but with a Hungarian accent. Although still among his earliest string quartets, Beethoven’s Op. 18, No. 6 teems with imagination.
Come for: Beethoven’s Sixth String Quartet, an early one from the master who set the bar for string quartet writing at an almost unreachable height.
And more: Don't miss the complimentary pre-concert wine tasting reception.
