Dudamel conducts Bernstein and Beethoven

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Last Modified:

About This Performance

Leonard Bernstein’s First Symphony (1942) is a profoundly personal account of the prophet Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. Sung in Hebrew by mezzo Kelley O’Connor, the powerful work’s three movements give us a first glimpse of a genius in action.
