Part of TH2 Thursday 2
About This Performance
Color is content in Debussy’s tone poem/symphony and Stravinsky’s groundbreaking ballet. Not the only content, to be sure, but an important and distinctive element. Color was also a focus for Canada’s Claude Vivier, whose own style synthesized many characteristics of Debussy’s and Stravinsky’s music.
Gustavo Dudamels’ sure-to-be vivid take on three masterpieces of orchestral color.
