Exciting young Dutch conductor Otto Tausk leads the first Green Umbrella of the season, which includes a U.S. premiere by Austrian composer Georg Friedrich Haas, known for his use of spectral techniques and Ligeti-like micropolyphony. Takemitsu’s typically evocative work comes from a period in which he often referred to water and used S-E-A as a recurrent motive.
