Our closing concert pays tribute to the late great Polish composer Henryk Gorecki, whose recent death gave inspiration for this concert and a subsequent Decca recording. With a choral style similar to Arvo Pärt, Górecki’s music builds layer upon layer to create a spine-tingling sonic swell in the famed acoustics of Walt Disney Concert Hall.
