A day-long symposium at Walt Disney Concert Hall with representatives from Venezuela, Finland, and the U.S. will explore models of music education from around the world, examining success stories and identifying transferable elements. The keynote address will be given by Peter Sellars. Participating panelists will include the visionary founder of Venezuela's El Sistema, José Antonio Abreu, and Gustavo Dudamel, the recently named successor to Esa-Pekka Salonen as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
When Friday finally comes, wind down your work week with Casual Fridays at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Casual Fridays are unique because the players wear their casual clothes and so can you. The programs are designed to be shorter, without intermission. And that gives you time to enjoy pre-concert and post-concert events.

Under the guidance of Festival Director David Robertson, Concrete Frequency is a multi-disciplinary series of events designed to examine and celebrate the elements that define a city, and how those qualities are affected by, and reflected in, music. Anchored by three stimulating orchestral programs, this unique exploration will be enhanced by a film festival, a view of urban and pop culture through dance and music, and thought-provoking symposia.
