LA Phil Isn't Rattled By an Earthquake

November 03, 2015

**Actual Audio Recording** On March 28, 2014 at 9:09pm, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake rocked Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Philharmonic was six minutes into a performance of Ravel's "Daphnis and Chloé" with guest conductor Charles Dutoit when the quake hit. A strong jolt followed by a minute of rumbling did not unhinge the orchestra or Maestro Dutoit, and the stirring concert continued without a hitch. And while we hope no more earthquakes will rattle it any time soon, we are looking forward to more of Maurice Ravel's beautiful music gracing the stage of Walt Disney Concert Hall in the 2015-16 season! Tickets are available now for the following concerts featuring the music of Ravel: Feb. 12-14, 2016 -- CITY OF LIGHT: Mother Goose, with installation http://www.laphil.com/tickets/city-of-light-mother-goose-installation/2016-02-12# Feb. 23, 2016 -- CITY OF LIGHT: Chamber Music from France http://www.laphil.com/tickets/city-of-lightchamber-music-from-france/2016-02-23 Apr. 24, 2016 -- SOUND ABOUT TOWN: Colburn Orchestra http://www.laphil.com/tickets/sounds-about-town-colburn-orchestra/2016-04-24 For more information about our overall schedule, please visit http://laphil.com.
