Recovering/친환경 is a space opera composed entirely of sound, inspired by modern electronic genres such as dubstep, house, and ambient music. The piece is divided into three movements, which can be experienced individually or as a whole, allowing the listener to trace the story the composer intended. The first movement introduces a ‘strange yet harmonious’ world. In the second movement, external forces repeatedly attack that world, undergoing cycles of collapse and recovery. In the third movement, it transforms into a resilient world that no longer falters in the face of assault. I think I was someone who longed to befriend such an environment, so I created this piece to console myself. If this consolation reaches someone else beyond me, that will bring me great joy.

I’ve landed on a planet.
Feels like I found the right one.
I know it sounds strange, but it feels like I’ve been here before.
A long, long time ago.
I can actually breathe without the suit.
Can you believe that?
And This might sound crazy,
but— Do you think, do you think this could be Earth?

Others just showed up—and they’re heavily armed.
I tried to get closer, but… something’s really wrong here.
I don’t know what they’re trying to do.
“Are they even planning to go to war?
I’m really scared.
This might be my last message. Please, take care.
Good news. The aliens here… they saved me.
For the first time, I feel like I might actually see you again.
I’m going to try talking to them more tomorrow
Like… how are you all so different? Seriously—what are you?
They actually remind me more of my cat at home.
Anyway—are you okay? Do you hear me?
I’ll see you soon. I promise.

Take care.
