About this Performance

With Folkocracy, one of the greatest vocalists, songwriters, and composers of his generation revisits his roots, taking us back through his own history and into childhood summers spent at folk festivals watching his famous family perform. Backed by a six-piece band, Rufus Wainwright will perform songs from his new album, which will be released on the day of the concert, and more: classics from the folk tradition by Peggy Seeger, Bob Dylan, the Everly Brothers, and Ewan MacColl, as well as songs he considers folk from artists like The Mamas and the Papas, Moondog, and Franz Schubert. "Nobody sings quite like Rufus Wainwright" —The New Yorker
