About this Performance
The LA Phil continues its series of free neighborhood concerts! By bringing live classical music directly to audiences across the county, this series builds, deepens, and diversifies our relationships with local music lovers.
This program is anchored by Tchaikovsky’s Serenade, an enchanting piece that demonstrates the composer pouring his entire being into the music. He said it simply came “from an inward impulse.” The piece opens with an elegant tribute to Tchaikovsky’s favorite composer, Mozart, before transitioning into a stunning waltz, a moody elegy, and finally, a lively finale that draws on Russian folk tunes.
Miguel Sepúlveda, one of the LA Phil’s four 2025/26 Dudamel Fellows, leads the orchestra in the Serenade, as well as Gabriela Ortiz’s symphonic sketch of dancing skeletons and a brand-new piece by former LA Phil Composer Fellow Noah Godard.
Ranchera artist Lupita Infante joins the neighborhood celebration for a performance with the LA Phil. Best known for her Grammy-nominated album La Serenata, the singer-songwriter carries on the legacy of her grandfather, Pedro Infante—one of the most beloved Mexican singers and actors of the 20th century.
Be sure to take your seat at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the concert. If you are not seated before the start of the concert, seats may be given to other attendees. The program will be presented without intermission.
We are pleased to present this event in partnership with Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.
