About this Performance

Admission is free, and no tickets are required.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic and First Congregational Church of Los Angeles present a free neighborhood chamber music concert featuring LA Phil violinists Mitch Newman and Rebecca Reale, violists Leticia Oaks Strong and Ingrid Hutman, cellist Barry Gold, and bassist Jory Herman, along with young musicians from three Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) sites.

Through this annual free performed by LA Phil musicians, the LA Phil celebrates Youth Orchestra LA’s advanced string players with much of the program featuring LA Phil and YOLA musicians performing side-by-side. Graduating senior Jerver Hernandez is showcased as bassoon soloist.

This year's concert is the culmination of a residency where LA Phil musicians led masterclasses and sectional coachings with students from three YOLA sites, with Juan Felipe Molano conducting a series of side-by-side rehearsals and the concert. The program will also include movements from Brahms' String Quintet No. 2 in G major, performed by the LA Phil musicians.
