About this Artist

Osmar Romero is the founder of El Marchante, a cultural project born in Caracas in 2015 that has evolved into a platform dedicated to researching, curating, and sharing Latin American and Caribbean music. Based between Caracas and Los Angeles, El Marchante explores the intersections of memory, migration, and sound through vinyl, live events, and collaborations that honor regional heritage across borders.

The project has appeared on stages such as the Hollywood Bowl and Grand Performances, touring across the United States and performing alongside artists including La Lom, Boogaloo Assassins, Adrián Quesada and Juanes. It has also travelled abroad to cities such as Mexico City, Toronto and Bogotá, cultivating international dialogue through music.

El Marchante has collaborated with institutions such as LA PHIL, the University of California, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center and The Music Center, as well as with record labels including Fania, Ansonia, and Diamond West, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and amplifying the diverse voices and rhythms that shape Latin American identity.
