About this Artist

Madeline Yang is a seventeen year old composer and pianist from the Los Angeles area. She was a 2024-2025 Luna Composition Lab Honorable Mention and participated in the organization's Adventures in Sounds class, where she recorded two original works with professional musicians. She also attended the Boston Conservatory's Composition Intensive, working with the Arneis Quartet to premiere her work. She has a current fascination with folk music traditions from around the world, text-settings, fixed electronics, and music for film and theatre. She studies piano with Dr. Hedy Lee and composition with Mr. Isaac Loew. Outside of music, Madeline enjoys reading, writing, daydreaming, scouting out aesthetic cafes, and spending time with her friends and family.
