About this Artist

Kevin Hernandez is a Los Angeles native gigging guitarist. He graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelors Degree in Music and from CalArts with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts, both with an emphasis in jazz studies/guitar. He has participated twice with the Grammy Affiliated Band, now known as the Hampton Jazz Ambassadors, at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. He has been a consistent instructor at the James Newton Jazz Camp. He performs around Los Angeles in different musical settings ranging from jazz, rock, metal, afro-cuban, salsa, regional Mexican music, boss nova, etc. He has had the privilege of being mentored and performed with Larry Koonse, Steve Lehman, Johnathan Pinson, Darek Oles, Tim Shaghoian, Daniel Rotem, Vardan Ovsepian, Dr. James Ford, Edwin Livingston, Paul Novros, and many more.
