About this Artist
Josh White is a trombonist and composer known for his powerful sound, expressive phrasing, and commanding stage presence. Originally from the South Side of Chicago, his musical foundation was shaped by the traditions of the Black church and marching band culture, influences that continue to inform his soulful and energetic approach to performance.
White is a graduate of Hampton University, where he developed both academically and musically while refining his voice as a performer. He has performed on major stages across the country, including performing the National Anthem for the Los Angeles Lakers, and appearing with the Grammy Award Winning production, DRUMLine Live.
Now based in Los Angeles, White continues to perform, compose, and collaborate with leading musicians while developing new musical projects that honor the tradition of jazz and Black music.
