Anessa Davies

About this Artist

Anessa Davies is an emerging dance artist, choreographer, educator, and arts advocate whose multidisciplinary practice reflects both creative ambition and a strong commitment to community impact. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a Minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach, where she trained under distinguished faculty and artists including Andy Vaca, Steve Zee, Keith Johnson, Danzel Thompson-Stout, and Brenna Monroe. In 2025, she was selected to perform in the American College Dance Association Gala in Eva Watson’s work, I Sit Beneath The Spinning Wheel.

Davies has already begun carving out a distinctive choreographic voice. In 2025, she choreographed, directed, produced, and performed in her first tap short film, Feeling Blue, which premiered at both the Inland Empire Dance Festival and Dream Screen LA. Her artistic work extends fluidly across stage, screen, and education, informed by a curiosity about movement as both personal expression and social connection.

Alongside her performance career, Davies maintains an impressive portfolio of arts leadership and community engagement. She teaches at Focus Dance Center and South Coast Performing Arts, has served as the inaugural Studio D intern at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, worked in General Operations and Social Media with the LA Dance Resource Center, and is currently the social media intern for Donna Sternberg & Dancers. She also performs with the competitive hip hop team Invictus under Ron Marasigan and Jaece Vitin, in addition to her work with DrumatiX. Grounded in both artistry and advocacy, Davies is dedicated to expanding access to the arts for students of all abilities and to shaping a more inclusive future for dance.
