About this Artist

Isabel is proud to be a teaching artist with YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) and has directed the choirs at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy since the site first opened in 2018. Her musical background includes piano, violin, classical voice, and vocal jazz, and she is passionate about introducing students to a wide variety of musical genres.

One of the highlights of her time at YOLA was having her students perform alongside Natalia Lafourcade at the Hollywood Bowl in 2024. As a teacher, she loves seeing her students develop confidence through music and is guided by the words of pianist Glenn Gould: “The purpose of art is not the release of a momentary ejection of adrenaline, but is, rather, the gradual, lifelong construction of a state of wonder and serenity.”
