About this Artist

Bianna Bell is a violinist from Brooklyn, New York, who was born into a family of Russian-Ukrainian musicians. She began her studies on violin and piano at age 5 at Kaufman Music Center, where her principal teachers were Viktor Basis and Nurit Pacht. Bell made her debut in Merkin Hall as a winner of the Kaufman Music Center concerto competition on both instruments.

Bell holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she studied with renowned violin professor Robert Lipsett. During her time at Colburn, she participated in and narrated for the Performance Forum concert series in Thayer Hall, served as a co-concertmaster for the Colburn Orchestra, coached sectionals for the Colburn Community School, and taught within the Jump Start program, a full scholarship program serving over 1,000 Los Angeles Unified School District Title I students. She also attended Aspen Music Festival and School on full scholarship in 2024 and 2025. Bell’s other accomplishments include soloing with the National Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine, being one of three finalists in the Concertino Praga international competition, and finishing as runner-up in the prestigious Dorothy DeLay Concerto Competition.

Bell is a part of multiple musical worlds and unifies people from different backgrounds through her versatility as an artist. She received a New Ventures & Social Innovation grant from Colburn, which allowed her to pursue her passion project called Dies Irae Rave that aims to blend EDM and classical music. Dies Irae Rave made its debut at Los Angeles’ 24th Street Theatre and has also been seen at The Majestic in San Pedro and Aspen Music Festival.

Bell joined the first violin section of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in July 2026. Through her diverse work, she strives to create a musical melting pot so anyone can access an enjoyable concert experience.
