About this Artist

She is known as the “Queen of Samba” due to her energetic update of Brazilian samba mixed with reggae and pop, and underpinned by energetic drums and percussion. DANIELA MERCURY’s music has been hailed by The New York Times as “international pop with finesse and power.” Born into poverty in Salvador, Bahia, she learned her performing skills leading the trios electricos in the city’s carnivals. Since then she has been wowing Brazil and the world with her energetic and magnetic live shows and has won awards, and sold hundreds of thousands of records, throughout Latin America.
