About this Artist
Beth Peterson is a puppet and mask artist and director of One Grain of Sand Puppet Theater. She has served as the Associate Artistic Director at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater, and currently as Master Teaching Artist at the Music Center of Los Angeles County, and Community Arts Programs Director at LA Commons. Commissions include the Civic Opening of Music Center Plaza for All, Civic Opening of the Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles, COAST in Santa Monica, the Glow Festival in Santa Monica, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the Gwatcheon Festival in South Korea. She has created puppet shows for the Skirball Cultural Center, Music Center International Festival of Toy Theater at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Automata, Korean Cultural Center, Natural History Museum, Bowers Museum, and Institute of Contemporary Arts(ICA) Los Angeles; and designed puppets and masks for CASA 0101, Center Theatre Group (with Teatro Campesino), South Coast Repertory Theater and Hero Theater Nuestra Planeta “Luzmi” and Bahia Kino productions..
