About this Artist

Daniel Karpoukhin (b. 2008) is a student at Hamilton High School and plays clarinet in the school’s Wind Ensemble. He studies with Amanda Walker and participates in Elemental Music’s Chamber Music Institute program, playing in a trio (The Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies). His hobbies include listening to classical music, particularly  Dvořák, reading French and Russian classics, teaching, studying history, and making terrible puns. He has participated multiple times in CBDA honor groups and has attended the Instrumental Artist’s Intensive summer camp at Idyllwild Arts. He is inspired by the masters of late Romanticism and wishes to make people interested in music from that period through his melody-based compositions.
