About this Artist

Emma Forrest (b.2007) is a creative entrepreneur with a flair for adventure. Her path to composition originated from script reading and memorization in cold read, scene study, and voiceover classes while auditioning for commercials, TV, and film as a child actor. While simultaneously studying piano, Forrest composed songs that told stories of characters that she envisioned and created. Around 10 years old, Forrest auditioned for Colburn Community School of Performing Arts with one of those pieces, picked up the cello and spent the next seven years immersed in various ensembles including the Colburn Youth Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra while duel enrolling at Mt. San Antonio College for music theory and musicianship training. Forrest is thrilled to gain wisdom from the Los Angeles Philharmonic Composition Fellowship to combine story telling with music. When she isn’t creating, she soaks in the adventure of the outdoors skiing, fishing, and flying airplanes with her brother, a pilot.
