About this Artist
Thea Humphries is a horn player based in Los Angeles. Named one of CBC Music’s 2023 Classical “30 under 30” and a 2022 Knight Foundation Arts Champion, she was a horn fellow at the New World Symphony from 2019 to 2023. She has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, and Syracuse’s Symphoria. Originally from Ottawa, Humphries received a Master of Music degree in horn performance from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Erik Ralske, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, under the tutelage of W. Peter Kurau. She will start her position as Tucson Symphony’s fourth horn in the 2025/26 season.
