About this Artist

Amy Ksandr is a freelance percussionist and timpanist in Los Angeles. Originally from Des Plaines, IL, Ksandr received her Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago. She then moved to LA to complete both her Master’s degree and graduate certificate at USC, where she studied with Phil’s Principal Timpani Joseph Pereira and percussionist James Babor. Ksandr has frequently performed with the LA Phil since 2018, participating in four of its international tours and performing on three of its Grammy-winning albums. Ksandr is also an adjunct professor of percussion at California State University at Long Beach.
