    WHAT:

Los Angeles, CA (June 6, 2018) - Oneohtrix Point Never brings MYRIAD, his acclaimed medium-spanning installation and four-part epochal song-cycle, to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Monday, October 22, 2018 for its West Coast premiere, presented by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Examining disorienting alien forms at the intersection of theater, installation art, and musical performance, MYRIAD explores film and television tropes, abstract sculpture, game ephemera, poetry, apocryphal histories, internet esoterica, and philosophies of being. It looks towards the possibilities of the future while considering the conflict between today's civilization and the environment.

This follows three sold-out performances of MYRIAD at New York's Park Avenue Armory and is informed by Oneohtrix Point Never's site-specific commissions at the Museum of Modern Art (2011), Tate Britain, MoMA PS1 (2013), and Edinburgh International Festival (2015). MYRIAD's initial run of performances featured Oneohtrix Point Never's first-ever live ensemble, and received raves from The New York Times, ARTNews, Resident Advisor, The Ringer, and more. "The music didn't have to explain itself. It billowed and throbbed, tinkled and crashed, swooped and pealed around the grand space. No narrative, no matter how cosmic, could match the sound," described The New York Times.

Oneohtrix Point Never's new album Age Of was released via Warp on June 1. The album received international acclaim, described as "brain-bending" by Rolling Stone and "truly staggering" by Stereogum.

Daniel Lopatin, known as Oneohtrix Point Never, is a musician, composer, Mercury Prize-nominated producer, and label founder of Software Recording Company, who works from Brooklyn, New York. His latest original film score, for Good Time (dir. Josh and Benny Safdie), premiered in official competition at 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where it received Best Soundtrack Award. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including James Blake, Anohni, Ismael Butler, Sofia Coppola, Kelsey Lu, and Iggy Pop. His production credits include Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne, and Nine Inch Nails, among others.
