LOS ANGELES (July 7, 2026) – The LA Phil will celebrate Gustavo Dudamel’s legacy season as Music & Artistic Director with Celebrating Gustavo at the Bowl: Dudamel’s Playlist, a one-of-a-kind, one-night-only Hollywood Bowl fiesta on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. Acting as host, Dudamel will bring some of his favorite artists together for a surprise-filled celebration built around a festive musical journey through some of the most thrilling symphonic finales. The evening will feature Los Tigres del Norte performing with Dudamel and the LA Phil, a special collaboration between Lila Downs and Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, and a performance by legendary trio Los Panchos. Bringing together the Los Angeles Philharmonic and an extraordinary lineup of guest artists, the evening reflects the joy, cultural richness and emotional power that have defined Dudamel’s time with the LA Phil. Part concert, part celebration, and part musical love letter to Los Angeles, the evening will honor Dudamel’s legacy with an unforgettable night under the stars.

Joining the celebration are Los Tigres del Norte, widely known as “The Voice of the People” for their storytelling corridos and songs about immigration, migrant rights, family and cultural tradition. Over the past six decades, the legendary family band, originally from Sinaloa, Mexico, and longtime residents of San Jose, has become one of the most influential groups in Latin music history, selling millions of albums, charting over 50 #1 singles, earning more GRAMMY AWARDS than any other Spanish language recording artist, and declared “The Top Regional Mexican Group Of All-Time” by Billboard. For this special performance, Los Tigres del Norte will join Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, bringing their iconic sound to the Hollywood Bowl in a unique collaboration between one of Latin music's most celebrated groups and one of the world's leading orchestras.

The evening will also feature Lila Downs, one of Latin America’s most singular and influential voices. Known for her charismatic performances and fearless musical range, Downs blends Mexican rancheras and corridos, boleros, jazz, hip-hop, cumbia and North American folk music, often centering themes of social justice, immigration and women’s issues. Singing in Spanish, English and Indigenous languages, including Zapotec, Mixtec, Nahuatl, Maya and Purépecha, Downs brings a deeply personal yet universal voice to the celebration. Downs will perform alongside Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, uniting one of Mexico's most celebrated voices with the world's premier all-female mariachi ensemble for a collaboration that honors the country's rich musical traditions.

Joining her on stage will be Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, the world's premier all-female mariachi ensemble. Founded in 1994 by renowned mariachi musician, producer and educator José Hernández, the group has redefined what is possible in mariachi, opening doors for generations of women in one of Mexico’s most cherished musical traditions while captivating audiences around the world with virtuosic artistry, powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence.

Also joining the celebration is La Sonora Dinamita, one of the most iconic cumbia groups in Latin American music. Originally formed in Cartagena, Colombia, in 1960, the legendary ensemble helped bring Colombian cumbia to audiences around the world, becoming one of the first groups to popularize the genre internationally. Known for its infectious rhythms, vibrant brass arrangements and powerhouse female vocalists, La Sonora Dinamita has kept generations dancing with timeless hits that continue to unite audiences across Latin America and beyond.

Rounding out the guest lineup are Los Panchos, one of Latin America’s most influential romantic music groups. Founded in New York City in 1944 by Alfredo Gil, Jesús Navarro and Hernando Avilés, the trio became internationally recognized for its romantic boleros, three-part harmonies and the requinto sound that helped shape generations of Latin music. The group continues under the direction of Gabriel Vargas Aguilar, known as Gabi Vargas, who continues to carry the legacy of Los Panchos to audiences around the world.

Together, Dudamel, the LA Phil and this extraordinary group of artists will turn the Hollywood Bowl into a celebration of music, memory and cultural connection, honoring a conductor whose legacy in Los Angeles continues to resonate far beyond the concert stage. Gate time is 6:30 p.m.
