Rock 'n' Soul duo Daryl Hall & John Oates appear on the Hollywood Bowl stage for the first time in their celebrated hit-making career, September 7 and 8, at 8:30 pm. Singing standards from their wide-ranging catalog, this chart-topping group gives audiences smash hits such as "Private Eyes," "Kiss On My List," "Rich Girl," "Maneater" and more. Delivering their own line-up of fan favorites, R&B sensations The Spinners open this memorable night.

The year 2007 marks forty years since two young students came together and took the world by storm with a new sound that blends the rawness of Rock with the harmony of Soul. Becoming the most successful duo in pop history, the millennium has continued to bring them success including their own label, U-Watch Records. Under their new label they've released multiple albums including a salute to their deep soul roots with Our Kind Of Soul which covers timeless soul standards including "I'll be around," by The Spinners.

Keeping in tune with the rhythm of the evening with their own legendary hits, The Spinners set off the show with singles like "Working My Way Back To You/Forgive Me Girl," and "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love."

DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES started working together in the early 1970's and went on to become the most successful duo in rock history. Meeting in a freight elevator while escaping a riot at the Adelphi Ballroom during the club's legendary Battle of the Bands, Daryl and John would join forces to become the pioneers of Rock & Soul. With over 60 million albums sold, DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES' rich repertoire has garnered a total of 8 #1 hit singles along with dozens of hits throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's, including 2002's "Do It For Love,". Other top singles include: "Rich Girl," "Kiss On My List," "Maneater," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do), "Sara Smile," "She's Gone," and "One On One,". Their trademark sound of rock 'n' soul can be heard in the harmonies of today's young pop stars, in the return to radio of sophisticated R & B, even in the black/white demographics of hip-hop and rap-rock fusion. In 1997, realizing the direction that the music industry was headed, Daryl and John released Marigold Sky on their own label. From Abandoned Luncheonette to Voices to H2O to their current material, Daryl Hall and John Oates will be remembered for generations to come because of the spontaneity, emotion and human connection that they bring to each and every one of their musical collaborations.

THE SPINNERS It should come as no surprise that The Spinners have always made timeless music. Their classic group sound and approach never loses its universal appeal. Throughout the years they have acquired twelve (12) gold records with hits on top of both Pop and R&B charts and they are one of the few groups who can boast of four lead singers. Today, original members Bobbie Smith, Henry Fambrough, and Pervis Jackson are joined onstage by lead singer Frank Washington, high tenor Harold "Spike" Bonhart and a soul-infused 5-piece band. In 1972, The Spinners signed with Atlantic Records and teamed up with producer Thom Bell, setting into motion an amazing recording career. A partial list of their hit singles on Atlantic include "Mighty Love," "Then Came You," "I'll Be Around," "One Of A Kind (Love Affair)," "Games People Play," and "Could It Be." The group received a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame," and has appeared in numerous network and cable television specials paying tribute to the music of the 70's. Throughout the years, The Spinners have taken the opportunity to give back to the community through charity, making appearances on behalf of autistic children, the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization, the NAACP, the Urban League, and many others. Today, this legendary R & B group maintains a full touring schedule, performing for fans of all ages in sold out houses around the country.

One of the largest natural amphitheaters in the world, with a seating capacity of nearly 18,000, the HOLLYWOOD BOWL has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since its official opening in 1922, and in 1991 gave its name to the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, a resident ensemble that has filled a special niche in the musical life of Southern California. The 2004 season introduced audiences to a revitalized Hollywood Bowl, featuring a newly-constructed shell and stage and the addition of four stadium screens enhancing stage views in the venue. To this day, $1 buys a seat at the top of the Bowl for many of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's concerts. While the Bowl is best known for its sizzling summer nights, during the day California's youngest patrons enjoy "SummerSounds: Music for Kids at the Hollywood Bowl," the Southland's most popular summer arts festival for children, now in its 39th season. Attendance figures over the past several decades have soared: in 1980 the Bowl first topped the half-million mark and close to one million admissions have been recorded. In February 2007, the Hollywood Bowl was named Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue for the third year in a row at the 18th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards; the Bowl's summer music festival has become as much a part of a Southern California summer as beaches and barbecues, the Dodgers, and Disneyland.
