Thank You, Kansas City! It's Been Vivid!

A panoramic view of Friday night's cheering audience inside Helzberg Hall.

The LA Phil's first time at the Kauffman Center was a huge symphonic success! The crowd went wild for Gustavo Dudamel, the orchestra, the program, and, last, but hardly least, the phenomenal Yuja Wang. Kansas City Star reporter Libby Hanssen also went a little wild for our "vivid" performance! (And for us in general.)

The organization is a testament to classical music as an integrated, not insulated, component of contemporary culture, considering the performers’ connections in education, challenging perceptions with commitment to performing modern works, while at the same time vitalizing the repertoire.

Doesn't get much better than that ... Much obliged, Kansas City!

While our new friend-city's hospitality is what we'll miss most, the insane indigenous BBQ will definitely be a close second.
