DANIEL ALLAS (b. 1993) is an aspiring composer from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. His musical career began as a percussionist, joining his elementary school band in 5th grade. He joined the Claremont Young Musician's Orchestra in 8th grade, holding the Principal Percussion seat for his junior and senior year in high school. After hearing of the program though this orchestra, he applied and was accepted to the 2009-2011 Los Angeles Philharmonic's Composer Fellowship Program. The program had a considerable effect on his compositional style, introducing him to many 20th century composers, and instilled in him a desire to pursue a college degree in music composition. He is currently working on his bachelors degree in music composition at the University of Southern California, where he was awarded the Thornton School of Music's Helen Wooster Strong Endowed Music Scholarship, a scholarship recognizing outstanding musical talent.
