About the performer
Lisa Christine Thelen
LISA CHRISTINE THELEN, soprano, was born and raised in Los Angeles. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Loyola Marymount University, a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Arts from the New England Conservatory of Music and most recently completed a Doctorate of Music degree in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California, where she had the privilege of studying with Elizabeth Hynes. She is a past winner of the Burbank Philharmonic Hennings-Fischer Young Artists’ Competition and was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Western Regional Auditions. Her solo appearances in orchestral works include Bach’s Cantata 51, Fauré’s Requiem, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Exsultate, jubilate and Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria and numerous performances of Handel’s Messiah. She is honored to be a part of the Holiday Organ Spectacular with David Higgs as she makes her debut performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Ms. Thelen is the Music Director for St. Bede the Venerable School in La Cañada and lives in La Crescenta with her husband Michael and two sons.
