About This Performance
A singer herself of prodigious accomplishment, Agata Zubel often incorporates voice in her music. "Synergy gives rise to deconstruction, and development makes it possible to look sideways... and back," she says. "This is also the case with my music, which, as it develops in time, adds new seconds while hoping to understand the minutes that came before."
Come for: The latest from an East European powerhouse, the influential Polish school led by Lutosławski and Penderecki.
And more: The LA Phil's own Burt Hara plays the haunted, lyrical and thoroughly virtuoso Sinfonietta that Penderecki arranged from his popular Quartet for clarinet and string trio.
