Part of GU1 Green Umbrella
About This Performance
John Adams’ hyperactive and acrobatic Chamber Symphony is an inspired mashup of Schoenberg and vintage cartoon music. Korean composer Unsuk Chin is known for her unique use of instrumental color, as in Šu, the Concerto for Sheng and Orchestra that was the first piece Gustavo Dudamel conducted as Music Director on a subscription concert here.
The magic and fantasy of Dudamel leading a brand-new piece by Unsuk Chin.
John Adams interprets his own now-classic Chamber Symphony.
